People assume they understood a person completely and some even think that they are faking emotion just to get attention. Some people may be “faking depression” but many others actually have it and are struggling to fight it. The song is full of emotion and speaks of a person presumably with a nice life who has depression. The song is addressing people who think the depressed person is faking it. It’s telling them to stop trying to prove that they are faking it and that they don’t understand what the person is going through.
